Use new toilet paper and pull the dong out from under your "lower back area"

LOL, yeah we lost a lot, you could see the grass again....but it's back...oh glorious snow.....
I had to saw off the metal tube of my power steering cause it was rusted through, and attatch a rubber gasline hose with clamps....in -20 celcius weather.....good times, I love my old car....*grumble grumble*

Lol... If you get the money, replace that with a stainless tube or braided hose ASAP, it will affect your steering to have rubber there.
EDIT-- We just got ~10 inches here, and we're probably due for a little more through the night. Oh how I love drifting turns.... ;D

Thanks seal, it actualy is braided. It's a piece of gasline hose.
And it's a 93 nissan sentra classic that I'm just waiting for it to kick the bucket. hopefuly sooner than later.

oh, I get what you mean by braided...it's not braided metal hose...but there is stuff in the rubber. i'm not sure how it can affect the steering enough to change it but it's the second time I've used this kind of "quick fix"....damn rust.

Well, it depends on if the power steering fluid heats up or not, and then how much it does... I'm pretty sure it does, so we'll go with caution for this little hypothetical... The fluid heats up, as it heats up, so does the hose (FYI - gasoline never really heats up beyond ambient temp.)... As the rubber hose heats up, it expands, causing the pressure to drop, and causing your power steering to become not so... Powerful.
This is why getting braided stainless brake lines close to the aparatus is such a good mod... The rubber hoses there expand because brake fluid and the brakes themselves get quite hot. This is one of the contributors to brake fade.
Again, I don't know how hot the power steering fluid gets, or how much of a difference you'll see, but if it was metal, you should eventually replace it with metal. Braided stainless hoses are the best way to go.

ok thanks. I think since it's winter, it wont' ever really heat up too much. Probably in the spring I'll look into it again. Also, it's only a small section of 6 inches. I don't quite get the point of the metal tubing in the first place. It's a long small metal tube that runs from the front of the engine compartment, to the left side, makes a u-turn and goes all the way back to the front, right side of the enginge compartment.....it seems like a lot of tubing for nothing. Unless that is, like you said, a way of cooling it down.

I might be metal because it's running by the engine, the engine could heat it up too.
